Thoughts on this new router + VPN, Beam?

So a company called Passel is launching a new router on Indiegogo today, called Beam that has a VPN option built in. It also has, available currently, the option to purchase a lifetime subscription to their software VPN called Forcefield.
I have their previous product, called Flter, along with their lifetime VPN, which works well.
I don’t have much technical knowledge about routers. Could I get some opinions from you gurus about this router?
FYI, it’s over 40% off today, supposedly only for today.

Eh... So you get a lifetime VPN subscription but no real data on how reliable it is or how fast it is, etc.
Any router can do a VPN these days. Can buy a decent router and then sign up for whatever service you want.
I wouldn't do it personally.
