surface area calculator app

Hi guys. im looking for an app that can calculate the surface area of irregular shaped objects from pictures on your phone (taken with your phone). Preferable something that you can free trace the outlines of the area.
anyone got anything they have used or know of i can try?

have an image with something in it that is known length, set that as scale. then trace outline of object to calculate surface area.
i found one app called sketchandcalc but it seems buggy as hell. it wont let me set the scale reliably.
