I have been having an Apple iPad for years. Dropped it yesterday and it appears to be done.
What are your recommendations for an economically decent replacement that’s not an Apple. I just use to look things up and read on the internet, play a few games, scan documents. Will occasionally stream tv shows

Samsung tab a8 128gb
Add a 512 or 256gb micro SD Card and you're done.

Either the Samsung a8 as stated above or the Lenovo M10. Both can be bought for less than $200.
I have the Lenovo and use it for exactly what you described.

Not very tech. When you say add a micro DD card, how would you do that? Is there a slot to insert or do you have to open the tablet? I kniw very little about this

I like Samsung Android tablets. My only issue is that they’re not battery efficient.
Thats one are where Apple shines.

Fold 5, no reason to get a pure tablet anymore.
