My mother is a cheap arse and wants to stream everything to save money. Only problem is she is incapable of doing anything technical.

She only watches Fox News, hallmark, local channels, and maybe nick jr or Disney for the grand kids. What’s the easiest and cheapest way to get this done? Sling, YouTube, or just pay for a basic cable package?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've never been able to find one. Good luck.

Hallmark is a tricky one and if it's important enough to list this will probably be what makes your decision as it's not on every service. I think ATT Now and Sling might be the only ones that have it. Pretty sure Hulu Live and YouTube TV don't.

Also, streaming service prices have risen enough that you may not save much money by switching. Some bundles of Internet and Cable TV can be cheaper than stand alone internet and a streaming service.

I have the Spectrum basic streaming package thats $15/month and it has Hallmark and 3 Nickelodeon channels but no Disney or Fox News. Get an antenna for the local channels. Disney+ is like $7/month and Roku has a Fox News app that you could just let her use your cable login for so she can watch Fox News live. Roku is pretty simple to use to switch between different streaming services or antenna TV

Depending on your location if you are fairly close to a decent sized city that actually has affiliate stations you ought to be about to pickup a lot just off of an antenna. Not even a big tall aerial, a fairly cheap one you can buy at about any store.
