I am still out of internet and cable. Spectrum gives us no timeline of when it will be restored. Are there any other options to getting internet for a temporary fix. Hot spots on our phones aren't really fast enough.

No other services are available at my residence. All power poles were taken down and new ones installed so all of the companies have to start from scratch installing their lines.

I would try home internet services offered by one of the cell providers. I think one of their dedicated router hotspots would work better than a phone, especially since you can locate it where it gets the best service and keep it there.

Do you have your own router?

Not like a modem/router all in one, but your own separate router?

I don’t know how much you are willing to pay, but it would help if you had your own router.

You need to buy an LTE modem that accepts sim cards. These are around $100.

Here is a link to one NETGEAR 4G LTE Modem – Instant Broadband Connection | Supports Power over Ethernet | works with AT&T and alternate carriers (LB1121) LINK

Read the reviews for more help. Someone said since they already had at&t cell phone service they were able to add to their unlimited plan for $20 extra. I don’t know what cell company you have currently?

You can purchase a 30 day unlimited internet/data microsim through at&t or t-mobile.

The problem is pricing is insane. It use to be $50 for unlimited internet through at&t. I use to buy these on ebay and never had to worry about cancelling. They were only good for 30 days starting when I used them. Now they are $80-$100. I think it was called business data.

You just put the sim in your sim modem and hook the modem up to any router. This is super fast internet made for multiple devices.

T-mobile has a $50 home data unlimited internet plan that includes their own wifi modem, but I don’t think it is available in our area just yet.

Thanks for the info. Just got a call from spectrum saying I am hooked back up. I should have started this thread 3 months ago. I gotta see it to believe it though, I have always had trouble with Spectrum's customer service.

Got home and kids said still no internet. I called spectrum and stayed on the line for 30 minutes only for them to say sorry, we don't know when you will be back on.

They were until I called and raised 3 kinds of hell. Now they say they will give me a credit. Probably never happen.
