Which model do I need? Portable might be nice latter on, but not currently needed.

Clear view of the sky? Do you have electric service or rely on a generator?

I would probably get the mini with the roam plan. Pack it up, take it home, pause the service during the off season. And the mini will run on 12v-48v DC so you could take it out to the blind/stand/whatever with a small battery pack.

Thanks for the reply. I have electricity at camp. And I have clear view of the sky.

Well then if you want service there all the time (for security cameras for example) then maybe just get the regular gen3 dish.

Can you get cell service?

If you can get 5g service, think about a Solis 5G hot spot.

Solis

It scans and uses the best signal it can find.
We get 35 to 49 mbps.

Just finished my first trip to West Texas to my deer lease with a Starlink Mini. No cell service at all, and the SLM worked perfectly. Streamed some football games, browsed the web, and texted all for 4 days, and only used 15 gigs. I have the 50 gig roam plan. Very happy with it. If you have any questions, ask away, happy to help.

The mini is awesome.

You could permanently mount it and then pull it down whenever you need it to take it with you somewhere.
