Speaker/Surround Sound questions, recommendations

So, we got moved into our new house. Living room has some speakers already mounted on ceiling. I'd prefer flush mount but I don't want to deal with changing them out at the moment. What equipment will I need in order to use these speakers? All wires lead to an outlet/plate behind TV. I'm on a budget and don't need a ton of fancy/expensive equipment. Recommendations?
New TV (Samsung Q60r) has Bluetooth. Would it be cheeper/ easier to just buy a couple of linkable (and portable) Bluetooth speakers to place in home?

How many pairs of wires are there, and how many speakers?
You need an AV receiver. $200-300 has a handful of 5.x options

That wouldn't work like you're expecting it to.

You in Baton Rouge? I have a great Yamaha RX-A730 Receiver I am looking to sell.

5 speakers total. I'm guessing I would need to add a sub though.

Yes. Sub makes a huge difference

So any 5.1 receiver will work fine. just search for that on Amazon. There's options from Denon, Sony, and a few other "big" brands.
If you have a 4k tv that you use Netflix/etc on, you don't really need a 4k receiver and can search for even non-HDMI options and run an optical cable from the tv to the receiver if the above is above your limited budget.
If you are looking for nicer or more than 5 HDMI inputs or anything in particular and want to give a little more info on what exactly your budget is, feel free to post it, and I may be able to come up with a better recommendation.
You probably will like it better with a sub than without it. But buy the receiver first. See if you miss it. And then if you do, in the ultra-budget range, check out Dayton Audio.

Here's a good Dayton option: Amazon link, currently unavailable though
Monoprice is also an option in the sub $200 range: Amazon link
It's great....you'll spend a few hundred and then get hooked, upgrading in a few years
