Soundbar question?

I have a Vizio 2.0 soundbar connected to an LG TV via an optical audio cable and cannot get any sound. The soundbar works because it will connect via my phone with Bluetooth. I mean, I'm not the most tech savvy but I've always had success using the optical cable. Anyone have any ideas?

i assume the soundbar has a button you press to switch inputs correct? you need to look it up online or check your remote out and change the input port on the speaker until you hear sound.
eta at least thats how my vizio soundbar works. i get 2 blinking white lights going up the side of it as it toggles between hdmi, bluetooth, rca and toslink. sometimes the kids hit the remote and change the input and i have to go through it again.
eta2 - also you might try unplugging/plugging it back in. sometimes i lose sound and the only way to get it back is to unplug the power to the soundbar and let it 'reset'.

Make sure the TV audio settings are set to send audio out via the optical output

Has it ever worked or is it a new connection?
If it is new, you have to go into the TV sound settings to make the optical the active.
If it stopped working, you may new a new cable.
