it's the craziest thing...

It's hooked up to a Onkyo receiver..receiver works fine on Sat/TV and I can watch TV...no issue

switch to play a DVD, only get sound, the TV blanks out...says no signal...so I can't control the DVD, see the menu, nothing...

I tried different DVD players, and different HDMI cables...even tried different HDMI ports, same deal...

for the life of me I can't figure out what is going on...

any suggestions?

Do you get video, if you bypass the receiver and connect the DVD player directly into the TV? I'm guessing yes which would indicate that the the video is not being transmitted properly though the receiver.

I have not tried this...

I have it set to push through ARC...so the TV is simply a monitor and Reciver acts as the switch...

I can get the Onkyo menu to pop up, I played with all the HDMI settings...

did the CEC auto...

I can't this thing to work... it work fine two weekends ago, and boom, nothing...

I keep thinking its silly switch, but now I am leaning towards the fact my receiver is bad

Make sure no pins are bent on the back of the receiver. I had that happen and audio worked but video was black. Try a different HDMI input on receiver.

yes I tried this...

I plugged the dvd player in another tv, works fine

tried different ports, same, I get sound no video

if I use the receiver's remote, it will throw signal on the TV for me to adjust settings... so it shows me the HDMI cable works...it will throw video

so it seems to be a setting input somewhere...but I think iv'e hit them all...

maybe something wrong with my receiver at this point...though my firestick in the cab/sat hdmi works great

What model receiver and tv? It could be an HDCP handshake issue.
