Some websites not working on wifi

Since yesterday while on WiFi some websites are super slow or don’t work at all. I can stream YouTube tv, other services with no issues but certain websites won’t load on my phone or computer. When I get off WiFi they load fine. I do a speed test and I see no issues on Speedtest but fast.com doesn’t work. I tried restarting our WiFi system with no luck.
I am thinking something is wrong with REV internet coming into the house?

We are having the same issue in Prairieville with Rev. Thinking there is some type of outage happening

Probably a REV DNS or routing issue. Use to happen on Cox all the time.
Trying changing DNS on your device to 8.8.8.8 and see if that fixes it.

Been on hold over 30 minutes now both via phone and chat with REV and getting nowhere. This company sucks arse at customer service.

I spent about 2 hours this morning looking at my network, hardware, etc. I think it’s the REV issue previously mentioned.

Was in hold for an hour before I was able to get someone. There are two issues. The big one that started last night they say is an outside the company issue that they are trying to resolve. The 2nd is a cut fiber line, that happened this morning.

REV probably uses an external DNS provider. By default, they "tell" your modem/router to use their external DNS provider. You can manually change your DNS providers, on a single device, or your entire network, to a free, publicly available provider such as Cloudflare to check if it resolves the issue, which was mentioned earlier.

Cloudflare's DNS service is 1.1.1.1, while 8.8.8.8 is Google's DNS service. Both provide fast and reliable domain name resolution, but Cloudflare emphasizes privacy and security features.
Cloudflare offers a DNS service called 1.1.1.2 that blocks access to known malicious domains, providing an additional layer of security against malware. This service redirects users attempting to access harmful sites to a non-existent address, preventing any connection to those sites.

Seems to be fixed on my end….

Try to learn about modifying your DNS settings before this happens again. It's not difficult at all, but you can spend 5 minutes doing it, without dealing with hours of outages and being on the phone to be told "we're working on it."

Mine as well. Still not happy with their customer service.

I changed it to 8, 8, 8, 8. And 1, 1, 1, 1

Got home this afternoon and seems to be fixed for me as well.
