I'm looking for some recommendations for a smart thermostat. I've looked at the Ecobee, Nest, and Emerson Sensi, though I'm not locked in to only those 3. I believe Honeywell makes some decent ones too, though I haven't investigated those too much.

I have two thermostats, one controlling upstairs and one controlling downstairs. I know the newer Ecobee's have some built in Alexa functionality, but my thermostat downstairs is about 2 feet from an Echo. With that said, while I don't need the built in Alexa functionality it would be nice if the thermostat integrated with Alexa for voice control.

I'd like to keep it under $150 per thermostat if possible, but I'd be willing to spend more if it could be justified.

I DO have a working "C" wire too in case that impacts anything.

With all of that said, any recommendations on which thermostat might be a good fit?

Costco has the Ecobee 3 Lite with 2 room sensors for 139 each. Ive loved mine. Same setup.

If you and your family have a routine that could be learned then the Nest E or regular nest might be a better option

Had an Ecobee 4 in my last house. Just built and went w/ Nest, honestly the home / away on Ecobee is better and wish I would have went w/ them again. We have learning mode off so we make custom schedules due to work schedules and such. You can't go wrong either way.

Has anyone ever had luck buying any thermostats (or anything for that matter) from Entergy Solutions Marketplace? Apparently it's a site for Entergy customers where you can buy deeply discounted energy efficient items. They have the Ecobee3 lite for $69.00. You have to prove you're a customer and you're limited to 2 thermostats per year.

Personally I haven't had any luck registering for an account - doesn't seem to be able to find my service address or account number. I've called them and they're "looking into it". I don't have high hopes, but was wondering if anyone else had ever purchased anything from there successfully.

I have a Honeywell lyric thermostat. I’ve used it for about a year and love it. They have an app for smart phones, it has geofencing, weather forecasting, and visually it looks great.

Anyone have any suggestions for the alarm.com ecosystem? I’m in need for two.

We were looking at the Nest a couple of months back but were told by our AC guy to stay away. He said they cant even count how may calls they get to come out and repair or troubleshoot the Nest. Recommended we go with Honeywell. After looking around a little more and figuring out which one was right for us, we went with the Honeywell Smart Color WiFi.

We love it so far. It was super easy to install. You can set routines, customize the screen, it works with Alexa, and you can control it remotely with the app, which is our favorite part. It shows the current outdoor conditions as well. The app lets you look at the upcoming weather forecast so you can see if you may need to make any changes to your settings. The Honeywell is a good bit less expensive than the others too. I think I paid $130 for it. There was a deal on them the day I ordered from Amazon. I think they are like $165 regularly.

Good Review
