smart home question

wanting to add smart gadgets to my home. I have a rather irregular work-sleep schedule and think I came up with a solution but realize it seems niche.
Im wondering if theres a way to set AC and light controls to be triggered at an interval of time before either my phone or external alarm goes off.

Not sure what you mean by external alarm but Home Assistant with the companion phone app can use your phone alarms to trigger automations.

get smart thermostat, smart switches or bulbs and echo dot then set up routines in alexa app

I think the problem is OP's routine is not routine.

As mentioned, Home Assistant can do all of that with simple 3rd party app integrations, set location triggers for smart devices (geofencing) etc.
