Sling TV - anyone get it to work with a VPN?

I'm in a pickle.
I am working on Midway Island for three more weeks and need to watch the LSU games. I would get the one day package from Sling.
I have a ROKU stick and when I click the Sling app it states I can't use a VPN. The problem is that many streaming apps will then say I can't use their app because I'm traveling or out of the country.
Any ideas or suggestions?
I'm also considering updating to ESPN unlimited, but I may be in the same boat as far as connecting.

My provider is giving free trials so it'll get you the Clemson game. Post your email if you want to try it.

For how much we pay just to watch LSU, this shouldn't be a fricking issue. We pay for sling because it covers every single game, and get charged like 65$ monthly while not using a single other part of sling and you know damn well they wont offer some lsu only type deal. Its sickening. Especially when youve got Brian kelly making millions to show up and do nothing after you pay hundred for the product. Piss.

I was always able to watch the games that were on CBS all over the world with no VPN.
You don't have time to solve this for today's game, but here's a potential route. Most apps detect the VPN being active on the device itself, because it's easy and doesn't involve them having to track VPN endpoints in the US that are serving as a front for users (the other end of the tunnel you're using.)
So, a clean solution is to put a VPN on a different device like a travel router ($39) and have your Roku connect to it. This way your app can't "see" that there is a VPN active, because your Roku is just connected to the travel router WiFi.
Based on a 30 second scan of sites, NordVPN is repeatedly mentioned as working with Sling, but they could be sites that are trying to get commissions off of selling subs, so do your due diligence. Almost all of them offer free trials to test them out though.
