Sounds like your router is finito. Like others mentioned if the modem is working but you are getting no wifi connectivity than your router is done. How old is it? What kind is it?

I have close to the same thing, except all my devices connect to wireless, my brother's computer connects. My computer will connect but to the wireless but It won't recognize the router so doesn't let me access the internet. What do I need to do?

I read it as "I can hit the local network but not the Googles..."

My guess is everything hasn't been power cycled

If every device in your house connects fine and can access the internet, then the issue is clearly with your computer.

Some steps to consider - which you can google from another device to locate the steps involved for your OS:

1 - Disable and re-enable your wireless card and/or let your OS troubleshoot your connectivity. (Windows Vista/7/8 have this function).
2 - Use ipconfig or ifconfig (depending on OS) to determine your IP address and gateway. Ping your gateway (router) to see if you have connectivity.

Again, use google if you don't know how to do these steps.

You will need to figure out how to make your desktop use its wireless card as a hotspot. I've never done it, never needed to. I will give you what I believe is a hint: Internet Connection Sharing on Windows

You can also do it with a bluetooth connection
