Be very, very careful if you're downloading ripped movies. The feds have gotten more active in shutting down sites, and your ISP and Hollywood can easily generate a paper trail of your misdeeds.
False. If you're paranoid get a VPN but nobody is coming after the private trackers.
Best thing about downloading is you have options. Everything from uncompressed 4K and HD to choosing the "flavor" that makes the most sense to you (dolby Atmos, web rips, etc)
One-click, done. Can't imagine trying to jump through hoops to try and do it manually.

This.
I've been using IPT for years without a VPN, and I have yet to get one of those piracy emails from my ISP

found it easier to download copies of dvds i previously purchased vs ripping them

Don't waste your time ripping them.

exactly. my canned response:
- purchased ticket and saw blade runner in theater
- purchased ticket and saw blade runner 'directors cut' in theater
- purchased blade runner vhs
- purchased blade runner director's cut vhs
- purchased blade runner laserdisc (yes, yes i did)
- purchased blade runner HD-DVD special edition
i stopped there. screw the constant evolution of the same content.
i dont feel an ounce of guilt downloading those and yep, when they inevitably upgrade the audio to dolby atmos i'll download that too.
i more than paid my dues for a 2 hour movie.

Yep same here. Handbrake and makemkv is the best.
I would normally rent from the dvd vending machines in front for Walgreens and Walmart and rip that way.
