yep, wifi primary monitoring with LTE backup monitoring if power goes out. Only wireless devices though, window/door open and motion dection.

I recently got the YI outdoor camera. Same concept. But there's an SD mini slot for up to 64 GB of local storage on top of free cloud services. There are some upgrade services as well. But it does everything the ring doorbell does. Records motion, setup motion area, two way talk, 1080p, can alarm on motion as well. 50 ft night vision and live viewing. Can connect up to 5 cameras through one account. Pretty happy with it so far.

i wonder if that whole system would be linkable to smartthings.
