Ring Pro Video Doorbell
YouTube installation video
Does any body have this doorbell installed at their home? Thinking about replacing ours with this one. Has some really nice features like motion activated recording, 2.4/5ghz compatible, app to view on smartphone, wide angle HD video recording, 2 way audio, etc. It also had some pretty good reviews. My biggest issue would be that I live at the end of a cul de sac and would have to fine tune the motion detector, so it doesn't alert my phone every time a car turns around in the cul de sac. Thoughts?

I have it it is awesome....once you get the motion zones fine tuned it works great for me.
I will say this....I originally got the regular version, but not the pro, the only reason that I returned it for the pro is because the pro is slimmer than the regular. The regular hung off my door frame a significant amount. The pro fit damn near perfectly....so that is a consideration too.

Pro is awesome. Regular is junk. Would constantly get motion alerts from the regular with cars passing. The motion detection on the pro has solved this.

I have it, it's awesome. I have several floodlights, a drop cam, and a chime. I got a few things free doing their explorer program and referrals. I am not a fan of the drop cam, but the ring pro, floodlights, and chime are awesome. I wouldn't of bought the chime, but that is one they sent free to explorers. I have it set up in my basement where I can't hear the doorbell. It will alert me to the doorbell or any motion zones I want it to send me alerts. It's kinda neat, not sure I would buy one though.
There is motion zones, you set up where you want to get motion alerts and you can even have them time scheduled where you won't get alerts at times you decide.
Here is a gif of how you setup a motion zone.

So if I'm working and my wife and kids are home and decide to go play out front in the driveway, will it constantly record the whole time they are out there? Or can I hit a button for it to stop? Don't want to keep getting an alert if they are out front.

You can manually turn off alerts or have a schedule set for them around when your family normally plays outside and you want them off.
When I had my crawfish boil I turned off all my alerts except the doorbell, because it would of never stopped pinging me.

Oh another thing, set up different accounts for you and the wife and invite her to view your cams. That way you two can set your own notification schedules and options. So if you want yours off, but she wants them on, you both can do that.

I have it. It's awesome. One of the few tech products that has totally lived up to the hype.

Is everyone using this with the subscription?
have been tempted but wonder how effective it is without the subscription?

I have a subscription. You can view live without one, but that would be kind of useless if something happened. Wouldn't have the video to show police.
