Hardwired into existing wiring… inside chime from old doorbell works fine but it’s dying after a few months.

Anyone have any experience or fixes for this?

Try the power kit.

There may be something in your home providing too much resistance on that circuit, which may be limiting the amount of power the doorbell can draw.

I've had this issue twice. First time it was because I didn't upgrade the old doorbell transformer, so it wasn't sending enough power for the ring to charge itself. Ordered the recommended size up and replaced. Hardest part was just locating the transformer. Mine was behind the indoor chime. But I was looking around in the attic for a while. So if you have an older house, it could be this .

Second time, it just seemed to be a faulty ring unit. I was in warranty still so they sent a new one after a lot of head banging going thru troubleshooting.

I had the same one for several years. Did similar and also quit responding and wouldn't connect to video.

Rebooted everything to to with internet a couple times, disconnected and reconnected it, and tried a full reboot on it. It just crapped out.

Bought a new one and all is well. As protected as they are, they still have exposure to the elements. One day they just die.
