I'm currently downloading the ISOs to get all systems and games from ATARI to 64.
Anyone have one?
Is it a difficult process?

It's very easy to set up.
Just unzip/unrar the files into the corresponding directories under the roms/ directory.
I plugged a PS3 controller into the USB port and it recognized it and was easy to configure.

Is that an original NES controller using some sort of USB adapter or is it a modern after market model?

its very simple. Yes you can use the original nes adapter but you will need a usb adapter to use with it or just buy a usb nes input

I'm using USB SNES controllers. So far I have played Atari 2600, NES, Atari Lynx, Sega Genisys, and SNES games with it. I haven't played any N64 games yet.

I'm gonna have to look into this. You can use it via Bluetooth/cordless?

I haven't tried cordless, I'm using the USB connection.

8bitdo NES30 Bluetooth controller, it's on Amazon. There is a SNES version too. The nes version has all the necessary buttons for snes games too.
I have an old sixaxis PS3 controller I can use for N64, but a ton of N64 games don't run quite right on Pi 3 without overclocking. So I don't play N64 that much.

Can anyone speak to the controller response for the controller that you use? Have you noticed any lag, ghost button presses, etc? Any controllers that are generally avoided by everyone with a RPi?

I have the 8bitdo SNES30. There's no noticeable lag. It's pretty nice

I had USB controllers that sucked bad with accuracy and ghost buttons. That 8bitdo controller is fantastic in comparison and the lag is really only noticeable if you are at tournament level play. Then you are gonna want mechanical switches.
