Hey everyone, active on other boards but looking for yall's expert advice
Looking to buy a desktop for my home office
Uses: mostly grad school studying/work/word processing. Also do amateur photography so need to be able to use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop and maybe some video editing.
Like to work on a bigger screen with a mouse etc. Currently have a macbook pro laptop that I do all my work on but want to have something more comfortable for my home base.
Have never had a personal non-mac computer but I'm leaning that way for this.
Want my screen to be at least 24 inches.
Looking to try to keep the price at/under $750 if possible
Thanks in Advance.
Will be checking in periodically to see what yall say when I can with work.
Edit/Initial questions
1. All in one vs tower/monitor
2. what specs should I look for? Ram? Processor? etc

Why not just get a docking station and add a nice monitor x2 ?
ETA: While I am in no way a supporter of Apple, this is an easy solution versus you not liking the Windows system and regretting it
lol..who downvotes right answers in here ?

A mac mini would probably work well for you if you didnt want to leave apple
For a pc
Start with i7 8th gen and a graphics card from the big box brands and see where you are on price. You can always easily upgrade ram later and can always easily expand your hard drive
24 is kind of small for just one screen

This as well, you can just hook up the monitors to the MBP and get a Apple mouse and keyboard as well

Have nothing against Windows, use it at work/school when not on my laptop and like using it. Have just had macbook pros since I've always only had a laptop.
Guess I was just thinking of the move to windows for this because of the ease of using them there and price. Figured a windows desktop would be cheaper than a mac.
Hadn't really thought of a docking station. Any recs that yall would suggest?

After doing some light research on using my existing macbook pro with add-ons to basically use it as a desktop I've come up with this:
Landing Zone Docking Station - $299 Amazon
Couple Different 32'' Monitors - $200-250 Amazon
- LG 32MP58HQ-P 32-Inch IPS Monitor with Screen Split - $197 for example
Mac compatible Wireless Mouse & Keyboard - $25-50 Amazon
So that'd put me at/around about $550
Is spending $550 on that setup really that much better than spending the same amount on a stand-alone desktop?
Am I missing anything that would substantially increase costs for either setup?
Should I be shopping somewhere more geared toward computing than Amazon, and if so, where?

You dont need the dock station, especially for that price.
If its a newer MBP, you will probably have similar to less specs to a desktop setup in that budget.
