My LG V10 is a great little phone and I want to keep it. But after two years, the charging port has gotten worn out and the charging cable keeps slipping out without extraordinary measures. I don't want to pay God-knows-how-much just to get a new phone. Anybody know someone reliable who can change out the port for a permanent fix, or some d-i-y tricks for a temporary fix? Appreciated.

They're not hard to work on. I replaced a couple of things on older iphones. Just see what part you need and get it on eBay or Amazon. Amazon usually has kits with the tools you need as well, at least they did for the port I replaced on an iPhone. YouTube the step-by-step instructions. You'll be out less than $20 and maybe a half hour of your time.

my son had this problem and he bought a magnetic usb charger that 'snaps' into place when he gets the cable close to the phone.

kinda cool but i think it was like $20+
