So i just got my cameras in a few days ago and set one up yesterday to play with the Reolink Client software and see if i need to go the Blue Iris route. May have already stated, I have ~5yr old Lorex NVR system and they have 2mp cameras but the NVR is only capable with their cameras up to 4-5mp. I like the client software and ease of use so far, so i'm not gonna mess with Blue Iris at this time. I downloaded the Blue Iris software and saw on their website that you have to pay for license, not sure if one time or annual. Anyways, i was able to configure the Reolink software and setup the camera to record to share on my nas. Things are going smooth now and i'll look to swap out the camera with one that's already installed and test from there.
Appreciate everyone's comments and feedback!

Yep , I think the price is well worth it. It’s a one time purchase with a caveat. I purchased V4 and could upgrade to any V4 updates. They then released V5 that I couldn’t upgrade to (for free). That would have been fine, but they quit supporting iOS push notifications on V4, so I was forced to purchase V5. I don’t mind too much though because it’s a good product that I don’t mind supporting.
It’s good that Reolink is working for you. No need to overcomplicate your setup.

Synology makes great software for their storage devices, including some pretty solid security camera stuff. I use it for my IP cameras. No server to manage, which is great.
