Free new season for MLB network. Last year I used my login to access the app via Apple TV and watched a ton of games on TV.

Nice. Already have free Netflix with T-Mo. Didn't know about this perk too.

Well crap! Houston is blacked out? I'm in the New Orleans area! Glad I didn't pay for this!

Not sure about away games, but I'll find out soon. I'm sure glad I didn't pay for MLBtv! I used to have the minor league version, for the Zephyrs, and they showed all the home/away games.

Between this, Netflix, and the Pandora Plus 1 year subscription they gave out last year, T-Mobile is covering about $300 worth of entertainment costs.

Well here it is, Opening Day, and the Astros are playing Tampa, in Tampa. It seems that the MLB, in their infinite wisdom, deems the New Orleans area to be in the blackout area for Tampa Bay. I already knew the assholes black us out for Houston home games. So, frick MLB.tv! I;m glad I didn't pay for this shite, and if T-Mobile offers it next year I sure won't waste their money by signing up for it again.
You know what? frick Professional sports period!

It doesn't matter where the game is. New Orleans is in Houston's blackout radius, so MLB thinks you can watch the Houston broadcast. You'll be blacked out from all of Houston's games all season.
The Cubs are at the Rangers, and BR is blacked out from the Rangers. At least I can listen to the radio feed.

frick them! What idiot in the MLB office thinks a fan in New Orleans would even think of driving to Houston on a weekday for a game? They will never get a dime out of me. Oh, but guess where you can watch the game, without a blackout. ESPN+, but they now want 29.98 a month for their service!
Edit to add: Unless you have the AT&T Sports channel, you can't watch Houston on regular TV. It's only available on Uverse around here, and maybe Direct TV. Screw the MLB, I'm done with those assholes. Besides, LSU plays tonight.

It's not about driving to the game, it's about buying cable. The Astros home network encompasses Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Eastern New Mexico.
If you want to watch the Astros in New Orleans, get Direct TV (or FuboTV). They will carry it.

frick cable TV! A VPN solves the problem.

if you are blocked, you can use a VPN blocker...they are cheap, a few bucks a month
