Which iPad? My pro cracked and Apple was the only local place that would fix it. Since it was $599, I chose to buy a new one.

did you need the entire screen including digitizer replaced? because that can be more costly

I have seen repair for just the glass on a pro for around 100 or so.

Do you still have the broken iPad? I'd love to buy it lol.

Full LCD replacement $200 LINK

Glass only $100

I ALWAYS go to eBay for iPhone and iPad repair service. It is wayyy cheaper than anything locally for me. And pretty quick. They typically fix it when they receive it and ship back 2-3 priority mail. Just find a repair service that has tremendous feedback and seems trustworthy and you are fine. Some even have phone numbers you can call them. Just search eBay for iphone or ipad screen repair service.

it just depends if you need the whole screen replaced or the top glass.. usually the entire LCD will be double the price, but well worth it. make sure you check the ad is for what you need. if you need the entire LCD replaced or not.. the other iPad services such as mini or ipad 4 are going to be cheaper than an iPad pro replacement.

If you are unable to wait roughly 1 week then yeah I get going in and having it done. It's really better for iphones because there are way more options available for repair services.

Any way, OP have you tried just calling around and getting quotes?

Just got my wife’s iPad done at ifixit on O’Neal. $120 and the guy said the glass they use is a certified Apple product.

I dropped it off one afternoon after they got the part in b/c it wasn’t in stock. They asked that I leave it over night to make sure the adhesive set. Picked it up after lunch the next day.
