All,
I know the new mac airs and macbook pros are spec Gods but for my job a Windows PC laptop seems to be what I truly need for day to day business/leisure. Prefer a laptop for portability to work while travelling. Any recommendations?

I've looked at the Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 and it seems like my current winner but does anyone else have recommendations on a laptop?

The Surface laptops are good.

When I did a deep dive on this years ago, the Lenovo X1 Carbon's were king. I doubt the quality has gone down much.

I love my Surface Pro but heard that they are absolutely unrepairable if something happens or screen cracks…

I bought the Lenovo X1 Carbon last year for a work computer. (13 inch, i7 SSD). The one I got was pretty top of the line and $1800 but it's incredible. Also it's 2 pounds. I have a MacBook Air for home use and frankly it blows that out of the water. If you buy it, I recommend CDW, they're cheaper than Lenovo's website for some reason.

This is why I went with Framework last summer.

As someone whose last gaming pc lasted 11 years (same cpu/mobo), the ability to repair is big for me. The Framework is my first personal laptop.

I love that every component of a Framework laptop can be replaced/upgraded diy and they provide guides on everything. Also having modular ports and can change usb a/c, hdmi, displayport etc as needed is really cool.
