had the HTC one x+. Still by far the best phone housing ever.
Little did anyone at my office ever suspect that little phone next to me seemingly plugged in to charge was undergoing gender-reassigment every other day.
Since a lot of the toolkits were command line based, it looked like I was busy doing SERIOUS computering.
ETA at one time my XDA post count was higher than TD! I think I left there with about 5,000 posts but i haven't been back there in probably 10-15 years. Just ghosted the place.

Yep same here I actually went a step further and used kitchen to cook my own Rom a friend I had sent me the base for it , was fun while it lasted but you really only did that for better performance and customization and now these things fly out the box and can customize them pretty much however you want. Thats one of the great things about Android you can get a lot of that stuff for free where you pay for everything or you just get it how Apple wants you to get it. Another reason I went back to Android

i still remember picking ROMs based on the # of posts that particular thread on XDA had
i didn't know shite about what most of that stuff was, but if it was faster and shinier, i wanted it. the amount of time i spent salivating over a particular widget or custom phone UX...well i have 80k posts here so i guess its a wash
