I have been with dtv for 10+ yrs. Well starting last yr if i turned to a hd channel it would just say lost signal or some crap. Well i have called them, they send me new boxes and it work for 3-4 months then does the same thing again. This is the 3rd or 4th time dealing with it and im over it.
Dish has a deal right now that would lower my bill almost $50 a month for every channel i have now.
So question is, do i call dish first and ask when they can come? Do i call dtv first and say im done? How do i proceed.

I can give you a referral code for Dish that will give you $50. I would schedule Dish first, then call Direct to cancel after the instillation is complete.
ETA: Referral is actually $10 per month for 10 months through October 27.

Greetings from DISH, We have recently received a request to send you a DISH $100 Refer a Friend certificate. Your unique Refer a Friend certificate code is: VCD0016692800
With DISH Refer a Friend, a current DISH customer and a friend can BOTH save $100 when the friend signs up for DISH!
Here's how it works: Don't have DISH yet? Sign up and save $100: Call 855-318-6900 or visit dish.com/refer to order DISH. Provide your unique Refer a Friend certificate number (VCD0016692800) at the time of order. This $100 offer is otherwise invalid.

Sure it's not a problem with the dish?
Mine was doing this a few years ago and the bolts securing the dish to the roof had come loose and just needed to be tightened and the dish re-pointed. Took they guy about 30 minutes to fix and I haven't had a problem with it since.

Sounds like it's the dish.
Just call DirecTV and cancel your account. They'll give you promos, but if you hold out and actually cancel they typically call or email in a day or two with a good offer. I read on another forum that people were getting Sunday Ticket for free, $50 off for a year, and a $200 gift card.
Then tell them to send someone out to readjust the dish. I'm surprised they just kept sending you boxes. My box kept freezing and I just wanted a new box, but they wanted a tech to look at it onsite.

Post what your signal strength is on the 101 satellite.
