i started using google docs years ago and the concept of 'saving' documents just went away like using the command-line prompt to launch applications.

Yeah I mean they have the fricking feature, why the hell would they have it disabled as the default? Makes no sense.

Of all the shite microsoft has that has this feature turned on automatically, Visio is the one that they turn it off by default?

Just note that the auto-recover function does not actually work, even if you have it turned on. I fell into this trap recently and lost a lot of work despite having auto-recover set to save my work every 2 minutes

Huh, all these years I've used Visio for work and never really noticed this. Then again I have the old habit of manually saving but still. All the other office apps have auto-recover, why would Visio be any different.
