Is there one in or around Baton Rouge? My Optoma projector is slightly over a year old which of course means the warranty period has just concluded. The initial bulb burned out, got a new bulb and its already begun flickering. I think something may be wrong with the projector itself but I can't seem to find a good place to take it. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

I would check with Optoma. Repair places just aren't as common as they used to be

Call the manufacturer and ask them what to do….I wouldn’t expect them to fix it for free, if the warranty period has expired, but maybe they can give you a discount on service or something.

How many hours did you put on the initial bulb, and what replacement bulb did you buy? Some of the bulbs out there especially off brand on Amazon are cheaply made Chinese stuff with a reputation for not being reliable. I'm no expert on it but feel a bit skeptical that the projector itself would have a flaw causing this.

And yeah the number of places repairing electronics has greatly diminished.

Did you buy an OEM factory bulb from Optoma, or did you get a crappy Chinese knockoff from amazon?

I couldn't get anybody interested in changing the bulbs on our Epson projectors at church. We decided it was time to go laser projectors. Rated at 20,000 hours.

I did the same. Switched to Laser instead of dumping money into an older Panasonic.

when I was using a projector I would order a bunch of different chinese ones from amazon and then return the ones that didnt look worth a crap.

Most churches are switching to LED walls and ditching projectors.
