Problem opening attachments and sites

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 which is about three years old. Lately I have experienced issues with opening certain sites or email attachments. For instance I am unable to log into my bank account as it just spools for a minute or two then stops.
I am job seeking and also unable to open certain job postings on the job sites.
I have NORD vpn and have tried pausing it when experiencing these issues but it doesn't always solve the problem. Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you tried clearing your browser cache, installing all updates, reboot?
If you're at home why are you using vpn for daily website browsing?

I'd take BabySam's advice and try clearing cache. I also think the VPN is somewhat unnecessary for home use. If you use it for out of region TV or something that's fine, but for browsing the web / accessing your bank - I think you're better off without it.
You could also try clearing the DNS cache with /flushdns
How-to /flushdns
Also, not a fan of Google Chrome. It's not a bad browser, per se, but I'd try, Brave.
Brave web browser
