Power cord is plugged in. Mesasge is 76% available plugged in not charging. Power cord power box is warm. Indicator green light is on

any ideas why it is nt charging? is the power cord just wearing out and needs replacement?

I think you are talking about your lightning or usb cable to charge your phone. If an iPhone, get a small paper clip or a pin. Carefully insert the end of the clip or pin into the lightning port on your phone. Move from one side to the other dirt of at an angle. Pull out and be amazed at the amount of lint that can be hiding in that port. Repeat until there is no more lint to retrieve.

Or, try another cable and see if it works.

yes it is a lap top. i dont have another one, may stop at Best Buy and have them check it.

It still reads 76% and not charging despite several hours usage?

could be charger or battery. How old is laptop? does not charging mean there's no indicator on battery symbol for it being plugged in?

Will be a little warm even if good. If very warm/too hot to hold for long, then that's a concern (including fire hazard).

Do you happen to have a little volt meter. A $7 volt meter would tell you if the charger is probably bad.

The batery icon now sttes 58% available plugged in, not charging.

when i plug in the power cord i get amessge " The AC power adapter type cannot be determined.

Your system will operate slower and battery will not charge. The problem might be solved by:
Ensure the plug is inserted compleely for best system opertion ( it is)
Connect a Dell 45 w AC adapter or higher ( thats what i have)

The avaialble has dropped since last night but is holding steady at present even with usage.

i dont have voltage meter.

I am traveling for work at present.

any ideas

Power cord + adapter, not just cord. The whole cord assembly thing.
