Think I just searched widget locker themes in the Google store and scrolled through til I found what I liked

That's Themer. Good one to try. It has all of the widgets, etc. built into the themes, so setup is really simple.

I'm not. I'm sure rooting has its advantages, but I haven't found a need for it yet with customizing being this easy.
