I haven't owned a video game console since Super Nintendo as a kid. Yeah I know...

Just got the Nintendo Switch 2 today. Do I have to plug it directly into my TV or can I plug it into my Yamaha Receiver which then goes to the TV? Will there be lag if I go through the receiver?

Please test it and find out for us. My kids are itching to get their hands on the Switch 2.

If the receiver isn't 20 years old you can probably plug it in to either.

Should be either. Pretty sure Nintendo is way behind other consoles on video resolution etc. it's likely years old technology

Switch 2 does not support HDMI 2.1, so older receivers should work just fine and you lose no features.

AKA it does not support VRR or any of the like
