Planning to switch to Verizon soon… question..

I currently have AT&T and will make the jump to Verizon soon. I want to keep my same numbers for all 3 lines. If I order what I want on Verizon’s site; will my AT&T phones still work until I get the Verizon phones delivered and set up?

You should go to a real Verizon store (not a certified retailer) and let them port your numbers/phones over.
You probably have a phone or two that will work on both networks.

I was hoping to avoid having to go to a store. My phones my work, but they’re over 3 years old so it’s about time to upgrade anyway. AT&T doesn’t work at my house unless I’m on wifi so that’s why I’m switching

You'll be on AT&T until you activate your Verizon account. Once you start porting over your numbers you'll lose AT&T service.
Over the years I've ported numbers from AT&T -> Google-Fi -> Verizon -> T-Mobile and eventually back to AT&T.
You'll be fine. Just make sure you have all account information from AT&T including account number, Pin, (port Pin if available.) If you don't know those things, update now, so you don't run into trouble mid-port.

Been with Verizon since dirt. Tried to Hotspot because a friend came over to show me why she raves about amazon fire stick and I'm about to cut the cord. Well we couldn't Hotspot, had to call Verizon and pay $10 for the month to do so. I'm on an unlimited plan from 25+ yrs ago.

Once you receive your phones and turn them on to set up, then your ATT service will be disconnected. Not until that time that you port over.
I switched from ATT (which I have had for 20 years) to Verizon in the Fall and regret it. I had many friends who raved about Verizon and who didn't lose cell service during the hurricanes we had where I was out of service for over a week or so with ATT so in my frustration I made the switch.
I'm not sure if they just don't know any better, but my overall service with ATT was hands down better than with Verizon. Slow data speeds, dropped calls, etc. Not sure if it is just our area, but I regret the switch.
