I had resolved to finally upgrade my iphone 5s this upcoming generation.
Except for, finally, the first time in my life, last night I dropped my phone and smashed the screen. Still working but there's a piece of it completely missing and I don't consider it reliable.
What should I do to bridge the gap between now and whenever the new phones come out? I'm in an awkward ~2 month period it seems.
Otherwise I'll be paying top dollar for something that's going to be "old" in a couple months. As you can see, as an owner of the 5s, I don't upgrade frequently. So this time around I'd rather avoid being a generation behind right when I buy a replacement.

Should just be a month or so until the new ones are out. Could take it to one of those stores and get them to replace the screen for $50ish

As mentioned, I haven't broken a screen before so this didn't occur to me. Seems to be my most attractive first option.

I’m waiting for my turn. Guy said it’ll be 129 here at Apple store. I don’t have any Apple care. That sound right?

If you live close to a batteries plus location its 80 bucks plus you get 10$ off when you make an appt on line. I had my wifes battery replaced and it was super easy.

Don’t get it done at Apple. Especially if you are about to upgrade. Google iPhone screen repair in your area and take it to a third party independent shop. The prices will be significantly lower.
