Outlook Search Not Retrieving All Emails

I started noticing a couple of weeks ago, when I would put a search term in outlook it would miss some emails. For instance if I put someone's email address, it would bring up some emails that that person was a part of but miss some emails from that person. This happens when just searching a random word and also when searching for emails from a particular email address. It might retrieve an email from a person and an email that person sent an hour later not retrieve it.
This happens on both outlook on desktop and tried doing on outlook.com and it misses the same emails so its something with outlook. It seems to be better this week where as last week is was missing more emails.
Has anyone else noticed this and/or know what the fix is?

Make sure you are searching the entire mailbox not just the “current mailbox”.

I search in current mailbox and all mailboxes just to see if it found them. It missed them either way.

Yes, I found that when searching by date some emails just weren't included at all. I could search by a specific date in sent, for example, and I'd get most of the emails sent that day. But if I go to sent and scroll to that date, there were often a few more.

I thought it was doing better, but went searching for an email. Pulled up an email on Wed. from someone and didn't pull up an email from the same person a few hours later with the same subject line. Weird.

This has begun happening at my office. To fix, you need to use the advanced search. I believe the box/button is to the left of the search bar? or it may be under the view settings to make it appear next to the original search bar.
Folks could not pull emails but when they did advanced search it worked. Suddenly started happening.
