I came across this photo on Facebook (A Plus Construction in LaPlace). Really nice set up. What would you plan in to something like this (in ceiling speakers, etc.)?

Is it covered at all? How did you protect it?

If this was the OT, they'd tell you putting a TV over the mantle is dumb/trashy/cliche/blahblah

But I like the setup a lot

If it's inside your house where you have to look up the whole time they may have an argument. Outside where you'll be standing up, bbq'ing, socializing etc it would be the perfect height.

Me too. That's a nice outdoor setup for sure.

Trying to figure where to place it in the den as well because of this. I've noticed a lot of people center the fireplace and put the TV in a built in to the left or right. Problem with this is that the TV is no longer centered. I think I may try to put the inside fireplace in a corner.
