Is there really that much of a difference? Is OLED worth the extra cost?

Opinions?

You mean QNED? No such thing as ONED.

And yes OLED is organic light emitting diodes. They are self emmisive pixels, like the plasma days. If a pixel is black then it is a true black. The only other thing close is miniled. And good luck affording that.

QNED is a backlit tech. Therefore more than 1 pixel uses the same light source. No such thing as a true black unless all the pixels from that light source are off. This is still the same tech as all lcd/led tvs.

Both can have great pictures and high price tags. If you are here asking then you are probably not the type of person that really cares about the trade offs of each. You should just go to the store and look at them and decide for yourself if you seeing something worth paying for. Plus, with basically no information about where and how you watch/use the TV no one is really going to be able to give targeted advice.

For me, OLED is better. Is it worth the price, depends on the specific prices.

Personally, I went OLED in theater/TV rooms but a kids bedroom, outside patio, garage, etc, I chose not to. OLED really shines in rooms where the light is controllable or that you can darken well when using.

But some people do prefer the color pop on QNED. It's maybe not as realistic or true colors for a picture connoisseur but some people equate the brighter picture with "better".
