Anyone here know anything about the omnidirectional TV antenna? I'm looking to get a new antenna and these look good but no idea if they are as good as the Yagi. Tia.

Depends on where you live.
The closer to the towers you are, the less it matters. If you’re on the fringe of the range, the quality and placement matter a lot more.

Check out antenna web for guidance.

Thank you sir. We are about 60 miles from the towers. Using a cheap antenna at 8 feet elevation able to pick up all towers except the Fox tower. The omnidirectional looks so much better my wife is ok putting it on the roof, just don't want to waste my time if it is crap.

If all the towers are in the same direction or close together an omnidirectional antenna is going to improve reception.

Selecting a tv antenna based on looks is a bad idea

If they are all in the same direction, a directional will give you better performance. If they aren't, then an omni is what you want.

Look at these. https://store.antennasdirect.com/attic-tv-antennas.html?_bc_fsnf=1

Those can be attic mounted. I have one similar to this attic mounted, I live on the west side of Lafayette and catch BR without any issues.

It is not our primary method of watching TV, got it with the intention of cutting the cord potentially but also for times when a storm might disrupt cable or satellite services (currently LUS cable but used to have DirecTV).

If I were in a situation where I wanted to use it as my primary and knew I needed multiple directions, I would probably spend on this one.

and add this because there are some stations in the area that still broadcast in hi vhf. The distance you can pick up hi vhf from is lower than uhf that most HD is broadcast on.

Not sure exactly where the OP is. If you're 60 miles from the transmitters, you're at the fringe. Omni might be pretty, but it's going to let you down. A directional amped Yagi (fishbone) - even if in the attic - is going to outperform.

Second thing - find out if you're target stations are VHF or UHF and get an antenna cut accordingly. To find out, put your target station call letters on Wikipedia and you'll see a Digital Channel and a Virtual Channel. The DIGITAL Channel is what determines whether it is UHF or VHF. (13 or lower is VHF). The VIRTUAL Channel is what the stations SAYS it is, so that it's longtime branding package is intact. In Baton Rouge, WBRZ is Channel 2 to your brain but is Channel 13 to your electronics.

In New Orleans, WWL says is it Channel 4 (longtime legacy branding there) but it is really UHF Channel 27.

Gonna add one more thing, use this to find the channels you want to catch at your house.

https://www.tvfool.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29

This is using the zip of Purvis, MS antenna at 10ft high.

This is a help page for the information it gives you.

ETA: Picked Purvis because I work with a couple of guys from right around there.
