I have some old tablets that I want to get rid of. How do I wipe everything on them and do I simple trash them or recycle them.

I'm sure different brand tablets have different procedures for wiping. Could take them apart and smash the memory modules.

They are small and unintrusive enough I just tuck them away in the basement somewhere with all the other storage. I'll forget they are there and their data security won't be a problem until I am dead and gone.

Could factory reset them, tie them to a burner Gmail account, fill them to capacity with random files, rinse and repeat a few times.
