Not really for scratching, it's for cracking.

Ahh. So this thing protects the screen from cracking? That could be pretty useful.

In theory it could. I've never owned one but stepdaughter has them on her iphone and she's cracked 3 of them without cracking the actual screen.
If you drop it hard enough I'm sure it possible to crack the protector and the phone screen as well.

Is this necessary? Screens these days don't really scratch that easily. Is the Pixel screen not made of gorilla glass?
Not absolutely necessary, but it has saved me once with my iPhone.
For $7 or $8, it's well worth it to pick up a pack of 2 or 3.

Anyone made attempt at unlock and twrp/root yet?
Posted on 11/21/16 at 8:40 am to whodatfan
Nope. First time I've been unrooted in a long time. Just haven't felt the need since finding a non-root AdAway replacement. I'm sure I'll get bored and do it eventually, but I'm loving this thing as-is.

Yeah. There is no replacement for rooted adaway. Ad guard is the non root version, but it has some drawbacks. Battery drain is one.

I'm using Netguard. It reports battery drain, but I think it's just because of everything running through it. I've approached 7hrs SOT in a day while running it, so it has to be minimal.
