if you haven't already, try just unplugging it and restarting. sometimes my firetv won't load anything, and a restart fixes it

also try "force stop", "clear cache", and then "launch" under applications > manage applications. your app might be called TVMC in the list.

Yup...go to applications in fire tv, manage apps, force stop like link said will eliminate problem, while there clean cache...dont clean data...just cache....and yes like link mentioned, your app may be listed as tvmc or kodi

Went ahead and installed Isengard release of Kodi, upgrading from Gotham. Loving the speed and stability so far. While screwing around with it, I decided to go ahead and commit the time to get my Genesis addon synced with my Kodi library (this was MUCH hard with 1Channel back in the day than with Genesis).

So in the process, I stumbled upon this awesome freaking tutorial on getting the most out of Genesis. It has one of the features I've been wanting for quite a while: syncing IMDB watchlist with Genesis. So freaking sweet.

Anyway, here's the "How to get the best out of Genesis" tutorial if anyone is interested:

Anyone have any tips for installing and running Kodi on a Windows 10 PC? Going to install it tonight and try this out. I have a dedicated Home Theater PC and want to expand its uses. TIA.

i have it running on my Windows 7 Ultimate PC.

Pretty much the same as sideloading it on any other device, but a lot easier. Plus you have a keyboard to type in URL's for repositories and a mouse to navigate thru the GUI faster.

Just visit Kodi's website, download the latest version for your OS. Run the .exe.
Go find an install for TVMC, download, run the .exe.

I used it as practice before installing on an Android box. Took me all of about 15 minutes to be streaming a movie on Genesis.

good luck.

we'll be here for the many questions you will have once you crack open TVMC and marvel at it's power. Look into getting Channel Pear and SportsDevil as quick as you get it installed.

Will do. Trying to figure out a good way to watch things in my theater without bringing a cable box from another room. I'm also tired of searching multiple torrent sites for a good quality rip.

as long as you have good high speed internet you won't need either the cable box or torrenting any longer

FYI: Sportsdevil has been down for the last 2 days. There is a fix here... LINK. I haven't tried the fix but apparently it does work. But it involves some technical hoop jumping. They state a new version is being developed to fix the issues. Hope it comes out soon.

Here is a youtube tutorial on the fix LINK

quote:

Note: There is an issue with the latest version of Sportsdevil in that a lot of streams don’t work (atdhenet for one). This is because the sites that use sawlive and castalba changed some of their encoding and back end info. Until a proper Sportsdevil update is released, you can fix the issue by download this file and moving the files into your “catchers” directory under the Sportsdevil video plugin folder in your Kodi file structure. If you don’t know how to do that, it is recommended that you wait until a proper Sportsdevil update comes out to fix the issue.

Want to get an OTA antenna from best buy tonight. Got no cable provider. What equipment will I need to get the basic channels in HD? I live in the central city area of BR, would an indoor antenna be enough?

Is there any other equipment needed besides the antenna? Does it go straight into my TV? Can I connect to my Surround sound receiver instead ?

Tia

Ok, edited to add that I read the entire thread..saw that former cox customers who kept internet could try to connect cable into tv..I did this and have all basic channels in HD!! ?? This solves all my current issues, if cox becomes wise then I will go out and get a good antenna. Thanks

If you can place Indoor antenna near or right at a window then yeah it will work, if not you'll need an outdoor antenna in your attic and move it around till u get best configure...hook it up to your cable line that runs to the tv you want and program it a couple of times...I got the clearsteam 2 from walmart and mine works great....

Posted this as a new topic, but so far have gotten no nibbles:

By next month (hopefully), we will have unlimited fiber internet and will cancel our DISH subscription.

I've already mapped out our viewing options (Netflix, Hulu, etc, plus SlingTV's $25 per month package that includes the SECN and will use the WatchESPN app for SECN+). But what are my options for recording the games for re-watching after the fact?

Am I limited to TiVo? They seem pretty pricey.

I'll hang up and listen. Thanks.

Finally got around to installing Kodi last night. Added the fusion source, ran the Addon Installer and Config WIzard. I then loaded Genesis.

Now what do I do to get tv, movies, etc? I looked for the Sports Devil, but couldn't find it so I must need another source.

You have to download and then push sportsdevil to your kodi box. Then you can install it. Tutorial Sportsdevil has not been working for about a week now but this is the latest fix. 2 previous fixes haven't worked for me and I haven't installed this one yet.

Sportsdevil-9-21-15

ETA: Just installed this version of Sportsdevil and it seems to be working well.

Question about sling....

Just thought of something.... With sling you can only use the sling account/app on one device at a time. BUT, you can use sling to log into watchESPN. So, can you watch sling on one TV and be logged into watchESPN on another TV via your sling account? No way those two services talk across apps, right?
