I see Nord VPN advertising on tv. Do VPNs really offer safer internet usage? How often should you select a new server?

I used it but moved away from it. When I could connect, the connection was secure (there were no DNS leaks, IP hidden, etc.).

However, the inability for me to connect to their VPN consistently, using two different computers forced me to switch away from them.

I use it on the regular. They didn't have enough servers for their paying consumers to utilize which would make the server use overload and have issues with connecting. Since then they have a shite load more servers and it's been great past few months. Nord VPN is very easy to use and I use it daily.

Thank you for the update. I may consider them again when my current subscription expires.

Well if the one you are using is fine, no need to swap.

I use Express VPN all the time. $99 annually.

I like that it has a kill feature that disconnects the connection if the VPN drops. Really good for torrenting and those types of things. ExpressVPN doesn't log traffic data, DNS queries, etc., but I don't think Nord does either. It rarely drops out of VPN. It also auto-selects the fastest server, so that's nice.

The only disadvantage is that speeds drop about 40mbps on VPN, but you won't really notice if you have a high-speed plan

I feel like if you're not doing sketchy shite online, they're pointless.
