My old conventional external drive was making death clicking noises so had been searching

Almost pulled trigger on a $150 2 TB Sandisk extreme but found this Lenovo 2 TB for $80 (1 TB is $50). Shipped straight from Lenovo free 2 day shipping. Transfer rates I am getting are mid 400s MB/s. Nice deal to backup everything.

Good move. The Sandisk extremes are awful. They will randomly no longer being identifiable via file manager. It’s gotten to the point of a class action being considered.

That is a good deal.

I ended up buying this last night.

Amazon - Crucial

I was impressed with the transfer speeds, considering it is not Thunderbolt compatible.

I picked a Crucial 1 TB X9 Pro for 68 bucks a couple of weeks ago. It "only" has 1000 GB/s speeds, though. I really like it, though.

I just received my Crucial external drive. It is very small - no bigger than a credit card. I also transferred 460GB of movies from my computer to the external drive in approximately 5 minutes.

I'm impressed.
