Loving the Nexx garage controller install!

However, a lot of times my phone won't tell me the garage is opening/closing until like 5 min after it does it. It's not like I'm in areas where there isn't internet. It's just delayed. Has anyone experienced this? Even when I remotely close it on the app, the red goes to green but then a few minutes later it will say 'your garage is closing'. ODD.

Am I missing something?

everything is going through the nexx cloud.

its possible they are queuing up the messages and then sending them as notifications to your phone.

they may have a primary and secondary notification engine for messages so maybe a bottleneck in sending some of the response messages out.

something like this is going on
- you click 'close' on your phone app & command is sent to the unit via nexx server
- unit takes action and sends a notification to nexx server that the garage unit successfully received the command and is in the process of closing/opening.
- unit completes close/open operation and sends that message as well
- nexx prioritizes open/close notifications to be sent out immediately since this is more important so your app gets that update in near real-time
- the 'secondary' notifications are going through a different notification system and are not being sent in a timely manner due to the volume of messages they have to generate or software issue

so thats all in theory and my guess is this is a server-related issue (does this happen when you're at home as well?) that will clear up over time.

eta if i was nexx i would instruct my software devs to disable the 'garage is closing' messages entirely if they're being sent out-of-order until they can figure out what the delay is. honestly there's not much value to those messages anyway because by the time those wind their way through the cloud and back down, the garage is already open/closed. seems like unnecessarily 'chatty'.

Yeah it's regardless of location. I could be at home or on the road when there is lag. I guess I could get rid of the messages altogether, but I kinda feel like a baller with them playing.
