I find myself already missing a few of the rastapop features. Volume button wake, and the close all recents button mainly. If it weren't for the lack of OK Google with the screen off... hopefully someone can fix that.

Double tap to wake > button wake.
Elix-R's next update is going to be a big one, he's waiting to get it all done before pushing the update, said maybe this weekend.

Is that part of a current ROM or something extra? Though I'm not sure I'd want double tap to wake, I still want something beyond a single button. This case makes the buttons hard to discern. Still waiting on the right case, if it ever exists.

Double tap to wake is quickly double tapping the screen to turn it on you don't use any buttons.
And it's normally built into kernel, for example I use ElementalX with their app and it has it as well as the sweep functions although I don't use any of them, Ambient Display seems to always wake my device properly.
Also have CPU and GPU control as well as voltage and tcp congestion for overclocking, gamma control, etc.

ElementalX kernel is a great one. All I used on my HTC M7.

Yeah I used it on my N5 a lot, before switching to Faux full time.

I assume this is something else I have to install? I don't see those options anywhere (still using elixr).

Yes. Just download preferred kernel and flash in recovery. Thats it.

Gotcha. So let's say I flash a new kernel. Then Elix-R releases an update to the ROM so I reflash the ROM. Does that overwrite the kernel again with the ROM's included kernel?
Posted on 12/13/14 at 7:15 pm to ILikeLSUToo
Yeah, you'll have to reflash the kernel every time.

Roms have built in kernels, so yes.
You'll also have to buy his app, it's 4.99 I believe. Support your devs!

EDIT: never mind. couldn't get the elementalx app link to work at first but it eventually worked.
I wonder how badly double tap to wake really affects battery.

Not very badly at all. It's not like the N5 or other devices outside of the LG G3 that require a hack/mod/app, Google had actually implemented the coding in the N6 for double tap to wake natively as it was originally planned, and at the last second they scrapped it but left the code.
All these devs have done is clean up the code and put it to use.

Cool, I might try it lieu of volume button wake. I also bumped up the CPU two bins. Probably going to look into overclocking and undervolting possibilities, if it's possible.
Posted on 12/14/14 at 3:03 am to ILikeLSUToo
It's possible I'm running at 2.8 and undervolted about 30mV.
Can go up to 3ghz but not stable yet.

I dont see how anyone wouldnt use dt2w. I am so used to it I find myself double tapping every tablet, phone, device I use out of habbit.
If you are using nova prime, in gestures you can make double tap to sleep/hibernate the device. I have a g3, so my rom has both dt2w and dt2s baked in. The elementalX kenel has both baked in as well.

I can see why people would find it useful. I enabled it, as long as there won't be a noticeable battery life reduction. I'm just to used to iPhone, which you can wake with the power button or the physical home button.

Ambient Display seems to always wake my device every time so I don't have a use for it on the N6.
Sweep2sleep I use occasionally.

I think my biggest issue is that I just need to change the time it takes to go to sleep. 30 seconds is a bit too short. I space out when reading, and the screen is big enough to fit more text than I can read within 30 seconds before I have to scroll
