As discussed in a previous thread, I bought my family member the following IPS TV:

LINK

There is a 2 inch black bar at the top and bottom of screen.

Picture mode is "Vivid". Aspect Ratio is 16:9. "Just Scan" setting set to Auto.

This person is using a Cox cable box for their TV source via HDMI cable.

Please help… Let me know what I need to fix to get the entire screen filled. Thanks!

Probably going to be a setting in the Cox Box related to Display Type or Aspect Ratio

There should be a setting in the cable box for size and aspect ratio. For DTV it's in the hardware setup menu.

Try plugging in another source like a computer of DVD player to see how it displays.

Yep, as soon as I posted this, I went to the settings for the cable box… And it was set to 480p. Old TV was 20 years old. Ha. All good now. Thanks.

I was a little nervous when I posted that link in your original thread.

I was afraid you might ban me if it didn't work out
