I've been wanting to get into it, too. I have a few other projects in progress already, but what's one more?
An idea I had just yesterday was to analyze TD posts to try to identify alters. Turns out somebody already tried it on reddit, and it seems promising if there is enough text to feed it. Of course, Chicken and/or Circus Child could easily figure this out with IP addresses, but what's the fun in that?
Also,
I had considered rewriting it using ML, so maybe that could be fun.

Also,
quote:I wrote a football simulator a few years ago that uses play by play data to predict scores and yardage totals for arbitrary matchups. I used it to play college pick'em on espn.com, and it did alright considering it was pretty much just a bunch of madness in the data and the code. I think it would have been more accurate for NFL considering there are more common opponents, but I never tried it.
predict lsu’s performance in upcoming games

quote:What approach do you think would be better? Seems like as good as any to me. Or am I conflating neural networks with machine learning?
Neural network is likely not the best model for predicting who will win a football

quote:
1) predict lsu’s performance in upcoming games
2) find the perfect ot 10
You could do both of these things just using one of the ML algos from scikit-learn.
