Shelf is listed at regular price. Have them actually scan it. Watch their face when it days $100. Profit

Grey means clearance, but doesn't indicate at what level, which is why you have to call. If an item isn't clearance, it would list an actual price.

Keep calling the automated price check tool.
how does this work? i got directed to an employee who kept me on the phone for 45 minutes before he had time to look up the prices
i said 'price match' when the phone asked me what i wanted and it immediately connected me with an employee.
i'd rather not tip them off if i don't have to.

Inventory showed available but there were none at my store, is the inventory not completely real time or was an employee hiding them somewhere?
OP how do you find these things in real time? I’ve been a day late on all of these you post

Probably should say price check. Its all automated.

I specifically said “Price Check” to the automated machine.
The machine then asked my for the internet code. Once it said the product named it states the price and how many are left.

Employees hide them. I've seen several reports of inventory being off by a few. These are 99% locked up in the cage by self checkout, possibly hiding in the mess of random boxes at the very top. I've had to get them to get a ladder and check through all the top stock to find the hidden clearance.

The worst part of my day has been having my nerdy arse outside in this heat drilling by into my brick house to install these outdoor IQs.
The one positive about the non IQs is that they had the magnet which was super easy to stick on a window frame and go.

yup. mctiger and i have learned the art of inventory hideout shopping. check yellow CLEARANCE endcaps, check in the smart stuff; check the boxes out on the top shelf..make them open the cage by customer service...

This is spot on. At the second store the lady was kind of timidly going through the case like “Ohh I don’t see them, how much are they and which ones?”
After a few minutes I politely was like “Can I look? I don’t want to get into your inventory but I think I see them.”
The first store was some good ole baw. He saw me wandering around aimlessly. He asked if I need help and brought me up front for them.
When he saw them ring me up he was like “WOW they must on a major clearance!” Then several other chimed in with astonishment. I did self checkout both times.
Both times I had an adrenaline rush like never before. I was certain they were going to try and stop me.
Walked out both times like a pig in shite.

Let me update that. So some other poor soul doesn’t get bogged down.

i've done this with penny stock several times. when i see it i add several other things to my shopping cart then self checkout so nobody sees me running my card for a penny.

I've called about 5 Home Depot's from HST to LA to do an automated "price check" and all were the original price
ETA: i noticed the original price is $399 for the outdoor. the automated price check had them at $320 so they were discounted

Brickseek said clearance with stock showing? What are you saying is the original price? $399?

put a note on your calendar to call once a day. price clearance happens differently at different stores but once they start to go on clearance...they keep going down until sold

Is brick seek the best website for this type of thing going forward?
I’ve already got a pretty stacked Nest Google Home house. Time to take to the next level. Haha
