Minimize window won't go away

Does anyone knows how to get rid of the prompt in the pic? Restarting my computer usually gets rid of it but it always comes back in the same spot. Anyone know what may be causing this and have a fix? This is on my second screen. The laptop screen never has this issue.

So the tooltip says "Minimize window"? You could use Task Manager to kill explorer.exe; if the tooltip goes away, it was Explorer or a shell extension. Sysinternals Process Explorer has a window ID tool that will tell you which process owns a window, but I don't know if it'll work on a tooltip.

It's a tooltip (mouse hover-over) randomly appearing in the middle of his screen.
OP, there might be an invisible window there from some program. You might want to just start closing running programs and check to see if it's gone after each one is closed. I would go to Task Manager and start killing processes until it's gone. Then you'll at least know which program is the culprit.

Just remembered, if you have Visual Studio, it comes with a program called Spy++, and its primary window is a list of open windows, and it includes tooltips and their text. From that you should be able to find the owner.

I think I found a fix. For me it was Chrome, I just clicked on chrome in the task manager and ended it. I guess chrome never really shuts down unless you go to the Task Manager.
